One-To-One Dog Grooming With Heart
A little about me and Dapper Hounds.
My name is Suzi; dogs always have been a major part of my life.
I have been a professional groomer for over 5 years, and though sometimes it feels like I stumbled into it completely by chance, my previous background in care for the vulnerable and elderly has inspired the empathy, patience and nurture I now dedicate to my furry friends.
I have experience working in a salon environment as well as mobile, and it has made me realise the true importance of a 1 to 1 approach.
For a dog to feel comfortable during a groom is a mission on it’s own, as most don’t like to be up on a grooming table for too long (or at all!), especially with lots of noise and distractions… We can’t blame them!
Every dog is different and needs their own plan. This is why I decided to start up Dapper Hounds as a mobile service.
It is not only more convenient, but it also allows me to build a relationship and trust with you and your dog. No busy salons, no distractions, no waiting around somewhere while your dog is being groomed, no stress of travel. Sounds good doesn’t it?
It is not just a great haircut for your dog, but a genuine connection, comfort and patience too.
I love them all, but I do have a real soft spot for dogs who need a little extra understanding, and have worked with plenty of nervous or misunderstood dogs—including those who once needed muzzles. With time and trust, many now enjoy relaxed, muzzle-free grooms.
On a personal note, I’ve got a very dapper (and occasionally very sassy!) Shiba Inu of my own.
Taking care of him has taught me first-hand just how important patience, trust, and understanding are when working with dogs.
I welcomed him into my life as an adult, which came with its own challenges. Anyone familiar with Shibas will know they’re incredibly independent dogs, and earning their trust and respect doesn’t happen overnight — especially later in life.
In the beginning, he was cautious, stubborn, and definitely liked to test me! But by taking the time to understand his boundaries, learning what made him feel comfortable, and allowing trust to build naturally, we’ve formed an amazing bond.
I share this story because that experience has only strengthened the patient, and gentle approach I bring to every dog I work with at Dapper Hounds.
Every dog is different, and I’ll always work with both you and your pup to make the grooming experience as positive and stress-free as possible — whether they’re a rambunctious youngster, a nervous dog with past bad experiences, or simply enjoying their golden years.

About The Van
The Dapper Hounds van is a fully equipped mobile grooming salon, professionally fitted with everything needed to give your dog a safe, comfortable, and stress-free grooming experience right outside your home.
• A professional hydro bath
• Grooming dryer
• Adjustable grooming table
• High-quality professional grooming equipment
• A clean, calm, one-to-one environment for your dog
It is approximately 6m in length, 2.6m in height and just under 3m in width.
All I need is a safe place to park nearby (please avoid yellow lines) and access to a standard plug socket. I carry a 9m power cable, so there’s usually plenty of reach.
After each groom, the van releases a small amount of wastewater — roughly the equivalent of a bucket of water, and far less than washing a car on the driveway. Only pet-safe shampoos and environmentally friendly products are used, so there’s nothing harmful being washed away.
